Invisible Histories is excited to present a look at the amazing Queer and Trans history of the South. We will look at how this history is being saved, explore people and events that make our history great, and look at the future of LGBTQ history in the South.

Invisible Histories is a 501(c)3 community-based archive. Co-founders and Co-Executive Directors, Joshua Burford and Maigen Sullivan, PhD, began working on the concept in late 2015. Invisible Histories locates, collects, researches, and creates community-based, educational programming around LGBTQ history in the Deep South. Invisible Histories believes archiving is resistance to oppression and history leads to liberation. In our work, we center joy and community while never erasing the painful and complicated experiences of our folks. We WILL save our stories, one box at a time.
