Learn how to research your family!
Genealogist Tatanya Peterson will share how she traced her family line back to Hampton and Grace Hathcock, her 4X great grandparents, who were enslaved on the plantation of James Chesnut, near Alachua, Florida. Learn about the discoveries she made and the steps she took in her research. Karen Kirkman, a volunteer transcriber, will discuss how to access and query the online Alachua County Ancient Records, and what might be discovered there.
Tatanya
